Claudia, The vampire who has had some kind of mental breakdown. Extremely immature but also with the tendency to cry blood at old films and bake cakes in her apartment this women sounds harmless.... until you react in a way that makes her switch and become the monster that in being held in denial behind those eyes. None of the photos have been edited. In the shoot I kept asking my model to be really expressive with different kinds of emotions; Claudia herself is a roller coaster when it comes to how she feels, her whole existence for thirty years has been a huge charade played by the people who imprisioned her. Claudia's personality can switch extremely fast; nobody wants to get in the way of an extremely old vampire princess.
Evaluation
This shoot was a lot of fun; over the entire project I had had a idea of what I wanted from my Claudia but then I found myself being to picky in my choosing. In the end I asked my model who is also a close friend because she has the innocent girly look that I had always wanted, my model worked hard in conveying Claudia's personality in which I had described to her. The makeup itself I'm pleasantly surprised with I always had the fear of making her look to heavy and done up with the makeup I had chosen as it is extreme is many aspects for wondering about ones New Orleans flat/underground prison. I decided not to add the vein onto her neck as I decided it would look to much and be covered by the hair, I think the rest of Claudia can give an audience the feeling of something being different with any normal character. Claudia's look was a mix up of her eighties lifestyle and iconic people but also had a mix of retro that being from her love for old films such as the classics 'Gone with the wind' in which she idolises. The hair was inspired by Sophie-Ann who is married to Claudia's father for a time, the hair is pinned to one side with brushed out curls; I decided to accessorise Claudia's hair with a little hello kitty clip to add to the idea of immaturity, like a little girl would have in her hair. I chose the green backdrop for the shoot as I wanted it to pop again the yellow something quirky like her Kitsch style apartment. Overall I'm pleased with the outcome of Claudia, she is exactly what I wanted when I imaged her initially.
